People ask me all the time if they should be listing their house in the Winter months. My first response is always, “Only if you’d like it to sell it in the Winter!” Listing a home in the Winter months can be challenging for some sellers. From my experience, there does tend to be less residential buyers after the snow flies, however the other buyers (Investors, Farmers, Flippers) are still actively looking for properties. In some cases to find something before years end. So, YES, there are still buyers in the Winter months. What stands out to me, seeing how there may be a shift in buyers for these properties, it remains necessary and sometime crucial to marketing these properties effectively. Marketing these properties to the largest audience available will only help a buyer through these months of unconventional buyers. Not all marketing is the same and certainly not all marketing works. I’m always happy to talk to my people about what I do and actively pay for, that I think makes a difference.
